I will be going to an outside wedding the last weekend of October in Chicago. I am going to assume that it will be pretty cold, but I am not sure. What should I wear? Can I wear a cocktail type dress with black tights or will that look stupid. Or should I just wear pants. I've never worn pants to a wedding before. DH has it so easy.. Pants, shirt, tie.... All done...
Re: Chicago outside wedding (NBR)
I live in South Dakota (so very similar climate). By late October, it can be a raging blizzard or hot outside, but most likely it will be cold (or at least chilly). I would wear something with layers - like a dress with warm tights a jacket and scarf. Pants would be fine, too - and probably more comfortable.
Also, if you live in a warmer climate, consider the fact that we mid-westerners sometimes are more used to cold, so bring more/warmer layers than what others may be wearing. For example, I live close to a major university, and you can always tell the out-of-staters, because they are bundled up in winter coats in September, and complaining that is is too cold ... they have a rude awakening come December. In contrast, I am still in flip flops and t-shirts until December or January.
