Just saw this on CNN that 10 babies have died in a whooping cough outbreak in California. Adults who are not up to date on vaccines like whooping cough can get their children sick.
A lot of hospitals are starting to offer new moms pertussis boosters, but fathers and other family members who are around new babies should also make sure they are up to date. I'm going to make sure my husband and my mother get boosters before this baby comes.

Re: Are YOUR vaccines are up to date?
Definitely. But if you read the article, 9 of the 10 were under 8 wks old - they don't get the vaccine until then. So this is why it is very important for parents & caregivers to be up to date as well!!!
I received a booster in the hospital after having my DD.
Exactly! My RE actually required that I be up to date on vaccinations prior to starting fertility treatments. The only one I did not update was my pertussis vax. Both husband and I plan to get the booster in the hospital.
Yep!
They gave me a D-TAP when I had DD, and I think they are good for a few years after.
