DD is 4 weeks and diaper rash appeared this morning. Her diaper is changed every 2-3 (maybe 4 if it doesnt feel wet at all) hrs unless dirty in between.. Am i doing something wrong? What do i do?
Using Huggies since birth. Thank you, this is my first one, so i suppose im a little dumbfounded sometimes when problems emerge.
Make sure she isn't soaked on her 'area' when she is put in a dry diaper.. pat her dry.. use the diaper rash ointment.. if it keeps up your LO might have a reaction to the diaper so try another brand.

DS had this at one week b/c he had diarrhea (we suspect from the similac). We brought him to pedi and got a prescription. But in the meantime, avoid wipes as they can be irritating - we used kleenex and/or washcloth w/ warm water until his went away. Also if you can soak him in warm water in the infant bathtub for a little while. They suggested letting him go diaper free but that wasn't an option for us. GL!
Our miracle IVF baby - D 6/09 & J - Surprise! born 9/10!!!
our ds got his first diaper rash at that time too, and i was so sad. just keep changing her like you are but rinse the wipes out with water before you use them to rinse out some of the soap. we also used destin (as per dr advice) and let him have lots of "naked" time, the air is really good for healing rashes. he wound up getting repeat rashes because his skin was so sensitive so our dr has us use a gentle diaper cream like aveeno with every changing.
