Hi! I'm new to the Bump and wanted to introduce myself. I just found out last week that I'm pregnant - about 5 weeks now. I think I'm due mid-June but will get a better idea after my first doctor's appointment at the end of October.
Some of the books I've been reading suggest looking into midwife as well as OBs just to get a sense for what will work better for you. Does anyone have a recommendation for a particular midwife or midwife agency? Thanks in advance!
Re: Intro & Midwife Question
What part of the state are you in? Depending on where you are your options include hospital midwives (certified nurse midwives), hospital affiliated birth center midwives (also cnms), non-hospital affiliated birth center midwives (cnms and cpms, these are in southern NH) and homebirth midwives (certified professional midwives).
For hospital CNMs I recommend the Mount Auburn Midwives in Cambridge, Women's Health Associates midwives at Newton-Wellesley and the North Shore Birth Center midwives w/ Beverly Hospital.
If you're interested in homebirth check out the Massachusetts Midwives Alliance members to find someone close to you https://www.massmidwives.org/?page_id=9
