For those who pierced their LO's, I need advice....G has had her earrings for about 2 months now and I was a nazi about cleaning them and they did great...then my Mom had earring made for her and I put those in (again I waited the right time and made sure they were 14kt)..anyway I noticed today that one side is infected, so I took out the new earring and put back the one she was pierced with since I know that one did not cause the infection.....My question is how should I clean the ear for the infection? Should I start using the solution again that the Dr gave when she first got pierced, or should I use alcohol?? It does not bother her at all, but I want to fix this for her right away....
No new earrings for awhile....(meanwhile the other side is perfectly fine!!)
TIA....
Re: Earring Infection....
Alcohol can dry out her skin and actually make the whole situation worse. You can use hydrogen peroxide in small amounts and only for a couple of days, using it more often then that will cause the same problems as alcohol.
The best thing would be to use the cleaning solution the doctor gave you. Also warm compress can help soothe it, or a soak in salt water.
Believe it or not, it is starting to look better already after I put some hydrogen peroxide on it!! Thanks for the tip!!!
Yay! I'm so glad that helped. I've always been super sensitive and have to wear good quality earrings. I wonder why the gold ones bothered her?
Aww thank you!! I actually just changed it last night!!
