Infant-Toddler daycare

I'm having my boy in February and will hopefully get 3 months off for maternity leave. Following my maternity leave, my husband and I will need to find a childcare facility. I'm really nervous about finding the right place. I'm lucky enough to have my mom who has volunteered to watch my son on Mondays, and I'm hoping that my job will allow me to take Fridays off. That leaves 3 days a week that my son will need to be in daycare.

My husband and dad work near Washington Square (Kruseway area) and my mom and grandparents live in Lake Oswego. I was hoping to find a facility near them in case anything were to happen to our son or my husband and I. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. We want to start going out to interview various sites in a couple of months.

Thanks!

Re: Infant-Toddler daycare

  • A few of the ladies on here use a center near St Vincents hospital, and they were all really happy with it.

Check out craigslist.  Also think about if you prefer a center atmosphere, or a in-home atmosphere.  I think you should look at both and see what you prefer.

Yes I have used (and am going back to in Jan) a spot called Care A Lot. It's right at the intersection of 217 and 26. We really like them and they are very reasonably priced for a center!

  • I love Childrens Hour Academy in Lake Oswego.  It is so full of love, and they offer wonderful activities as the kids get older.  I live near Wa Sq. and the back roads make it really easy to get there.  They have a website with full pricing and all that jazz. https://www.childrens-hour.com/
