2nd Trimester

Yep-probably a dumb question, but....

You never know what is dumb and not dumb to worry about anymore.

A friend called me last night asking if she could use Nair Hair removal while pregnant. I laughed and first and said "of course...why not?"

She then said "I don't know. You aren't supposed to use Retin-A or other acne medications like that and I don't know how those work, so I thought I better ask someone."

?I still said she was fine, but what do you think.?

Re: Yep-probably a dumb question, but....

  • My instinct would say that she's fine as long as she doesn't eat it or something.

  • Its one of those no-one-knows-for-sure-so-they-say-to-avoid.  But I continue to use it - I agree w/ pp about most facial/skin creams - if you don't eat it and you don't use it frequently, I can't imagine it would be a problem.  If she's worried, she can get waxed instead but it will likely be more ouchy.
  • I have heard back and forth on this one. One reason it is a no-no, the chemicals. Your skin is hypersensative when you are pregnant. My doctor said no, but it all depends on what her doctor tells her.
