2nd Trimester

Anybody else has a very bad back ache?

I work from 8am to 5pm sitting down in a black leather chair with back support and armrests. But I can't stand my back anymore! It hurts! I dont know how to sit, I move forward, back, sideways, I stand up, try to walk and nothing. Anybody else has this problem with your back? Is this pretty common?

  • have you tried a pregnancy belt.. it helps to align your back better and lift your belly weight off your hips... its my life saver. :)

That on top of these headaches make me a very horrible person to be around. Last night I actually went to get up off the couch and it felt like something exploded in my back.

  • I worked in an office setting when I was pregnant with DS and had that problem from 14 weeks until the day I delivered.  It was awful.  Nothing but standing/walking made it feel better.  My boss even ordered me a new ergonomic chair.  Didn't help.  I did have a heating pad that may have helped a little, but not much.  Hopefully you can find something that works for you, if not, you have my sympathy, it totally blows.

FWIW, I no longer work my sit down job, but my back hasn't hurt once yet this pregnancy.  Go figure.

  • I do!  The mornings aren't so bad, but by mid-afternoon my back is killing me.  I try to stand up and stretch every 30 minutes or so and it helps a little.  I also started using one of those rice bags (not sure what they are called)...but you heat them in the microwave and then rest it on your back.  That helps ease the pain a little too.  I wish I had a personal masseuse to give me a massage whenever I want!  Ahhhh that would be so nice.

  • I stand for about 9 hours a day for my job, and by the 3rd or 4th hour my back is killing me until I go to bed at night. I dont think it really matters if you are sitting or standing, but probably some what is how your baby weight is being distributed in your body. Right now I am all belly still so I dont think that is helping.

  • Me. Crying It's so bad that my right leg is often hard to walk on. I went to the RMT last week and it was fine for a few days but it keeps coming back. I also feel like someone is trying to break my hips while kicking me in the junk. Isn't pregnancy just the greatest? Wink
