Sleep mask as hostess gift?

Do you think that an embroidered sleep mask would make a good hostess gift?  I was thinking I could put a little card in with the gift that says something like..."In honor of all the sleep I'm missing out on...." or something like that.

Like or hate?

    Does your hostess use one?  I personally cannot sleep with anything over my eyes and would never use it.  If she doesn't use one it probably is not the best idea.

    I think it is kind of weird, unless the recipient is really into sleep masks or something.  I can't stand sleeping with them on, so for me it would just sit around collecting dust.

    I think this is a cute idea. It's hard to come up with a hostess gift that isn't the traditional candy thing.  What are the odds the guests are going to be using any shower gift they get anyway?  I like the idea but maybe don't spend a lot of money on it.    When i threw a baby shower for my sister i gave out little plant pots with baggies of flower seeds and wrote something along the lines of babies growing as flowers grow bla bla bla.. but that was for a summer shower.
