We had this one until I sold it on CL Hmm . The recall affects older strollers and I know many of our kids are older.

Nice to know now that my child is almost FIVE and we haven't used that stroller in about two years. I'm probably just being slow (& not trying to be insensitive) but how does a child get strangled by *stroller* straps?

DH called me in a panic about this. Hello? DH? We have never owned a Graco stroller. He usually doesn't even get worked up, so it was odd to me that he did this time, Confused

I guess it is good that they recalled considering there are probably still a bunch out there in use (like the one I sold and the one the other poster sold). But yeah, frustrating, if they are really a danger, to have used one with my kids AFTER the infants had been killed.

This info wasn't in the link posted, but it's my understanding that the incidents occurred when the child was not strapped in at all, then slid down where they got caught in the straps.

Uh, hello, follow the directions and strap your child in.

It's pathetic that this happens and Graco has to take the hit for adult stupidity.

It's not the straps at all. It's when the kids are not strapped in-- the older models had a larger space between the seat and snack tray that they could slide between and get their head caught in.

I think the whole thing is ridiculous.

I will never understand why a person's stupidity leads to a recall of 2 million strollers!! How hard is it to strap your kid into a stroller, or if they are an infant, use the car seat. I have one of the recalled strollers. Have used for 3 years and 2 kids and never had a problem. I even remember looking at it and thinking that if you didn't strap them in, they could easily slide out. Knowing that, I always used the car seat or strapped them in. Common sense people, common sense!!!!! What a waste of money for Graco.

Mercy. That's like the Bumbo recall b/c kids fell off the table or countertop. People should really stop being dumbasses.

I watched an older toddler go right out the bottom, under the snack tray, while walking at the zoo one day. Her parents were pushing and she decided to dismount while they were walking. They were all right there and she was not strapped in. And, I thought, how freaking clueless are they that she hit the ground before they noticed? It's not that hard to use it the right way, and, oh, I don't know, actually watch your kids!! I used mine for 2 kids and never had an incident!

The deaths were between 2003 and 2005, and they're just now saying it's an issue? That's wonderful that both the crib and the stroller we used for Evan's infancy have now been recalled as too dangerous to use.

One of the comments had a good theory-- they suddenly issue recalls on stuff right around the time that an older child would be ourgrowing it and the parent would sell the item.

Recalls kill the resale market, forcing the parents to buy new for subsequent kids, or not making them available for people who would buy used.
