Hi ladies. I usually post on the IF board but I thought I'd post here with a question for you. I just got my BFN on my second IUI. Our RE said we'd try 3 IUI's and see where to go from there...my question to those of you who have had success with IUIs is how many did it take before they were successful? My nurse said our RE wanted to talk with us about next steps but I'm wanting to try a few more IUIs. We really can't afford IVF (would be all OOP) so I'm hoping and praying the IUI will do the trick. As you can see from my siggy, they think I have endo but I haven't had a lap yet. My OB/GYN recommended IUI because of their endo suspicions and because my DH has performance issues when he knows it's my fertile window (he can provide samples for the IUI's no problem though, go figure...). Their goal is to try and get me PG before endo worsens, etc. We found out we do have some mild MFI as well but DH's numbers have increased over the past few months now that he's on meds. Any advice, thoughts? TIA.

Re: Jumping over from IF board with a question (IUI)
No real advice, we moved on to IVF after 4 IUIs, but we had severe MFI.
Just wanted to say that you should do whatever you feel comfortable with. Our doctor wanted us to move on after 3, but I just wasn't ready emotionally (or financially, we were OOP). After the 4th I knew it was time. If you want to do 8 before considering next steps, then do 8. Try not to feel pressured.

my RE says after 3 cycles of clomid/IUI (or femera/IUI) the chances of it working are slim - so he moves to injectables + IUI.... does 3 of those and then to IVF.
talk to your doc- if you can't afford to do injectables/IUI - maybe he'll let you continue what you are doing- but with endo it might not be worth it... so talk to the doc about odds, money, etc.
