Baby Names

Warren, who is his twin brother

Warren is a definite and we know we like uncommon but not odd names....normal names not used often, but often enough that it's not weird.

Open to suggestions. My first thought was Arthur is Warren's twin, but com on, Arthur is was to old sounding and Artie is NMS. Also NMS, spelling names uniquely. I'm a traditionalist at heart.

Thanks girls!

Re: Warren, who is his twin brother

  • I am slightly confused.

Oh and his name isn't f*cking Warren!

(Gold star to the first who gets that)

  • I like Arthur paired with Warren, actually.

    Other suggestions:

    Clarence

    Lionel

    Gerald

Lawrence (depending on your pronunciation of this, it might be too similar to Warren--an almost-rhyme)

    Charles

    Walter

    Bernard

    Frederick

    Norman

    Russell

These aren't necessarily my style, but to me they do fit with Warren/Arthur and your other criteria.

  • I dont' get the comment. We're sure we want warren as a name and are under suspecsion of twins at the moment. what is a good name for warren's twin?

This makes more sense. The OP sounds like we are all walking in on the middle of a conversation.

To me this is conflicting information which makes it hard to give a proper opinion.

  • Wait, are you or are you not having twins?  If you are "under suspicion" of twins, I would assume you have not yet had an ultrasound, so you wouldn't yet know if you have a Warren or a [insert girl name here].

    I'm just really confused.

I don't know what's up with my siggy and I am too lazy to figure it out.
  • For some reason, Beckett first came to mind

Suggestions from the Baby Name Wizard for Warren are Gordon, Leonard, Alvin, Raymond, Russell.  For Arthur are Walter, Louis, Albert, Theodore, and Henry

sorry about that. I get more reaction...feedback when I actually post a name before a comment. everyone has an opinion on a name. i was trying to be attention grabber. sorry i missed the Empire Records quote...good movie!

  • If you like Arthur what about Archer or Asher? I think they're a little more updated.

  • TBH, Warren and Arthur both sound a little *too* middle-aged/frumpy/grumpy-old-man-in-a-cardigan to me. I do like less common names (DH and I just couldn't agree on any so we ended up with William and Alexander :P). But how far along are you? And why do you think you *might* be having twins?

vertility treatments. won't know for a few weeks if both make it. we've got 2 girls names 1 boy name. never thought we'd end up in fertility treatments. it's drepressing so i'm focusing on the fun stuff, like baby names.

our girls are clementine & camille (clementine if faternal)

our boy is warren but if we are blessed with 2 and those 2 happen to be boys i'm sort of stuck looking for a second boys name witch is was less stressful than worrying if i will be blessed with both.

  • it's fertility treatments and we were  under the impression they were not both viable. we were wrong and are still in our first trimester. we are still concerned we will lose 1 (god forbid both).
  • I like a lot of strangebird's suggesions. I was going to add Anchor Wink

Lawrence was the first name that came to mind, but I agree - it's too close in sound. That also ditches Morgan as well.

    Theodore, Martin, George, Russell, Dashiell....

I also really like the letter, W, but I wouldn't want to have you stuck with matchy matchy twins (hey W is in twin - nice!).

    Edward was my first pick

Some others that fit that category....

ETA: If I were going to be a complete nerd, I'd say Rowan...since Row is another word for fight, and War is a large-scale fight. Big Smile
