The realization just hit.

I now shake my head at how naive I was...I really believed DH and I would be done building our family by my 30th birthday. It's not the numerical age so much (if Jennifer Lopez can rock it, then so can I)....but it's rather the slap in the face that life took a sharp 180 degree turn from what our plans were.

Are there actually people out there who end up being able to live according to their child-bearing plans? The concept just seems so....foreign.

I hear ya...I'm 31 and thought I'd be done, too...we only started trying in May and were lucky enough to get the ball rolling...now I feel like such a set back and I'm not getting any younger...they say it takes the avg. couple a year to get preg...well does this mean now a year from my mc? If so...man I could be 32 and not preg yet :-( BUT then I remember so many people getting pregnant in their mid 30's and I try not to worry so much...

(((hugs))) I'm sorry. i understand how you feel. I can't imagine it either - my childbearing plans have never lined up with my reality. It seems like such a miracle that anyone gets pregnant and has a baby ever. Yet, there are so many people who just say I'd like to get pregnant this month and BAM - they do. So frustrating - wish it could be that easy for all of us.

Happy almost birthday! I know how you feel, when I was younger I thought I would have at least one child by the time I turned 30. Since that is in 7 months I am pretty sure I will not.

If I've learned anything from this, it's that things don't always go according to what we plan, and it sucks.

I know how you feel. I am going to be 32 in a couple of months! I never thought at 32 I would have no children at home. I am sorry. I hope you do have a great birthday though. ((BIG HUGS))

((hugs)). I had a rough time turning 30, my twins would have been here for my bday. I also thought I would have a few kids by 30 since dh and I got married a few weeks before I turned 23 and we started ttc right away.

I know what you mean. DH and I have been trying for years to start our family and when we got our BFP we were so excited. I always said I was going to have all the kids I'm having (we want 2) by the time I'm 30. I turned 28 in August and lost our LO a week to the day after my bday. I'm really doubting I'll have 2 kids in less than 2 years, so I guess so much for that. I hope your bday was great, if possible. Big hugs.
