Cloth Diapering

Is Rockin' Green really that great?

For laundry det. were use Nellie's Laundry Soda and it seems to work.   We have a HE top loading machine.  I do a soak on the dipes, then hot wash with Nellie's and sometimes some baking soda, and then an extra rinse or quick wash with vinegar.    The baking soda/vinegar seems to help keep them from getting the ammonia smell when they pee on the diapers.

But, I was wondering if Rockin' green is really that great?    I'm thinking of trying it out just to see if it works better, but it's quite pricey!!   Thoughts?    The reason I'm wondering this morning, is because Natalie's night time diapers smelled skunky this morning:(  blah!

  • RnG solved some repelling problems for us and they haven't come back.  Iove it! You could order a few sample packs for comparison to your current routine so that you aren't committing to a whole bag.

  • I think I will try some samples.   ack!   It's just so much more expensive than Nellie's (we get it at costco)...... oh well.
  • I think getting samples is a great idea.  I like RnG, but my baby is sensitive to it -- gave her a red, hot bum.  I use Country Save now.
  • Yup!  We started using this from the very beginning and have never had any stink or repelling issues.  Occasionally, I will notice an ammonia smell in DS's overnight diapers.  Whenever I do, I just rock a soak (fill your washer with hot water and 3 tbsp of Rockin Green and let your dipes soak overnight in it) and then wash as normal and the issue is gone.  It's worth the money.

  • We had stink issues with our diapers and Rockin Green has helped that so much no more stink. It comes out quicker so less rinse so saving time also.

  • Mom's Milk Boutique is having a deal where if you buy 2 bags, you get free shipping.  I ordered a sample last week that I'm waiting to try before buying a whole bag.  I really hope it works 'cause my CD's are stinky and starting to repel.  :(

  • I love it.  We've used it right from the start so I have nothing to compare it to.  We only use one tablespoon per load so it lasts a long time for us.

  • The scented sample I had gave my (somewhat sensitive) baby a pretty nasty rash.  The unscented seemed to be ok, although I'd be hesitant to invest in a whole bag right now.  However, it seemed to clean much better than the Soap Nuts I was using previously.
