1st Trimester

Just remembered how I gained 42 lbs last time!

Heh, I swore this time I'd try to keep my weight gain to under 35 pounds.  But I swear, I'm either vomiting or ravenous!  Today I've had yogurt, a Wendy's biscuit, a baked potato and part of Chipotle burrito.  This is not good!!! Embarrassed

  • I know what your saying I gained 63 lbs with my first and 36 with my second, I am sooo hoping I can limit the weight on this one, but other than the nasty heartburn I am eating constantly!! Uh OHH

  • What I have found helps me, (at least a little bit,) is when I am ridiculously hungry, eat a normal amount, and wait 15-20 minutes, even if I still feel hungry immediatly after eating. The wait usually proves to me that I'm not actually still hungry, my stomach just needs some time to tell my brain! Other wise, I eat and eat and eat, and then a while later I feel like CRAP!

The more slowly you eat, the more full you'll feel! Good luck!

  • I just had chicken tenders, curly fries and mozzarella sticks from Arby's for lunch.  I saw a show last night showing about the making of curly fries and it got me craving them.  Thankfully, all that food made my nausea subside.  Go figure!
  • And now I'm going to Arby's for dinner.  Thanks! I was trying to figure out what to have anyway b/c DH ate too much of the spaggetti last night to have it for leftovers tonight.  And Arby's is right by my doctors...I'm probably going to gain a lot of weight with this baby.  I guess I'll worry about it in 9 monthsTongue Tied

So funny because I was actually thinking about Arby's curly fries this morning. I'll have to find one in my area, and pick some up. Last week I had a wicked craving for Subway, and I nom nommed a whole foot long. mmmmmm. So good.

  • I love this post because it starts out about eating and weight gain but then gets side tracked on curly fries!

I gaine 40+ with my first and this time I'm trying to control it but when you feel ms all the time and then you have moments where you feel good and you're SO hungry you just eat what you can. I'm hoping I can balance it out in the 2nd trimester when the m/s subsides. But, it is hard!

  • I gained 60+ with DS - and I'm still packing 10lb over my pre-pg weight

So def staying active and eating healthy is a big goal for me this time around too

  • This time around, I'm able to eat a bit more. But I remember last time when I was PG with DD, when I was in the middle of second and third tri, I had wicked heartburn, and could barely eat anything. So I think that balanced things out. I'm fully expecting the heartburn to come back because I normally have heartburn even when not pregnant.

  • I know what you mean. I gained 70 lbs on my son and I swore I wasn't going to do that the second time around, but it isn't looking good. I am always hungery during the day and too tired at night to excerise. However I did have all the weight off minus 10 pounds by the time my son turned 1!!!
  • With my last pregnancy, I did really well in terms of not gaining too much weight.  I think this time is going to be a totally different ball game if I don't get a GRIP!  I've already gained about 7 pounds although I'm sure most of it is just bloat.  I cannot stop eating.  I think I'll try the trick the PP posted about - eating a normal amount then stopping for 15-20 min. even if I still feel really hungry.  Otherwise, I'm gonna be HUGE!
  • I gained 50 lbs and I'm right on track to do that again. I did manage to get 5 pounds below pre-preg weight so I actually can gain 55 this time :)

Ah, it will come off. I have celiac disease so its not like I can just go out and buy a cake and a pizza and go balls out. I worried about it the first time and I'm not doing that this time. I'm enjoying it.

  • i hear that. I gained 45 with Jacob and only lost 15...so im already fat at the beginning of this one. The only foods that are remotely appealing are wendys/chikfila nuggets and subway/arbys/ledos cheese sandwiches. mmmm...cant wait for dinner.
