S/O pregnancy pack

I just found out that at a local MIDDLE school there are 5 girls b/t ages 12-14 that are pregnant. WHAT?? How can you get pregnant at 12? I mean, I know how, but I wasn't even allowed to talk to boys on the phone at 12. I seriously think I may have still been playing with Barbies. Just makes me sick.

    I wasn't physically able to get pregnant at 12. I was a late bloomer. And I don't think I knew anything about sex either. This kind of thing makes me scared to have a daughter.

    Reason #8000 I'm glad A is a boy: I've never heard of a "let's get some girls KU" pact among 12yo boys.

    This stuff scares the life out of me.  I have a 12yo sister.

    Thats crazy. I wasn't physically able to get pregnant at 12 either and I wouldn't want to ever be that young and KU. I hadn't even had my 1st kiss yet at that age. My mom was 16 when she had me (no pact, just accidental) and she always warned me about teen pregnancy. I guess with girls being sexually active younger and younger these days, I will have to make sure I really talk to DD when she hits puberty.

    wow... I didn't even realize boys were interested in girls "that way" at 12! I mean, I get that they're starting to have hormonal feelings and stuff but when I was 12 all the boys still acted like girls had cooties or something... Well, I guess I'll just have something else to talk to DS about when we get to that point.

    DH is a middle school teacher and he had a conversation last week with another teacher who just had a baby girl, and that teacher said that now that girls are maturing at 9...

    When DH repeated the story to me, I stopped him there. 9!!! OMG. My niece is 7 and moody and we keep saying that my sister is going to have to buy her tampons next year... but seriously, 4th grade??? Too young.
