Ladies who stopped swaddling cuz LO was rolling.....

how did it go? DD was STTN with swaddle, ever since we brought her home from the hospital.

The last week or so, I stopped the swaddle, and she is such a restless sleeper........... she sleeps maybe 2-4 hours at a time, then wakes up crying, sometimes screaming!

How long will it take her to learn how to sleep without the swaddle?  

The other issue is she is now waking up and not going back to sleep without eating........so that is another habit I have to address. But wanted to tackle one thing at a time...........so no swaddle first, with feeds, then will address the night time feedings.

    We bought the magic sleep suit to replace the swaddle. It's magic! Seriously, DS almost always STTN now. He still needed the swaddle, but could break out of it easily and he was also rolling. He couldn't sleep without it though, that's why we tried the sleep suit. Since there is a 30 day return policy, I decided to give it a try. So far so good and it's been almost 2 weeks.

    We put DD in a sleep sack. It took her about a week or two to adjust to it. She still has her nights, but for the most part sleeps just as well.

     Although I am really looking into this magis sleep suit...

    oh how i miss the swaddle. LO was busting out of it and rolling all over the place so it just had to go. actually, i still use it, i just dont swaddle her arms. that way it keeps her little body and legs warm, like a wearable blanket.

    she does not sleep well. sleeping on her tummy helps (since she rolls onto it all the time anyway).

    We stopped swaddling cold turkey due to rolling & it was pretty for 8 nights.  Waking many times, wanting to eat then, too, etc.  After that she started waking 2-3 times, needing/wanting to eat sometimes.  Now she is back to STTN & some nights waking once (not the majority).  I feel like the nights she wakes & wants to eat she needs to eat.  Maybe she's going though a growth spurt or something & I don't want to deny her BFing if she's clearly hungry.

    I think the rough patch for us was a combination of de-swaddling, 4 mo wakeful & transitioning from bassinet to crib.  We transitioned her sleep location then also b/c it was going so poorly we felt it couldn't get any worse.

    DD1 born 5/24/10.

    Missed M/C at 14 wks Feb 2012.

    DD2 born 5/14/13.

    Missed M/C at 9 wks July 2015.

    Expecting someone new 4/17/17.
