M/S--Help please

Hi everyone,

The last 3 days have been pure misery in the am. My morning sickness is waking me up and for a good 4 hours in the morning, I feel dizzy and have the worst feeling (the one right before you throw up) but nothing happens.

Any tips to avoid this? It is making it obvious at work and I have 2 weeks left at this job and def. don't want to start the new job with suspicions...

help please

Re: M/S--Help please

  • Small meals!  Make sure never to leave your stomach empty.  If you wake up at 3am hungry, EAT!  If I didn't, I would be in the bathroom first thing.  For me, ginger ale helped tons!  It was the only thing that I could drink.  Also, randomly, Honey Nut Cheerios and Apple Jacks.  Some say saltines, but it all depends on the person.  Ginger Snap cookies also helped some.

For the first few months, the only thing I could hold down was greasy food... pizza, burgers and fries.  Nothing else was appealling.

GL and hope you feel better!

  • I had the same with greasy food as PP. Ate pizza at nearly every meal because it was the only thing that sat well. Dry cereal and rootbeer helped, too. If I found I couldn't eat at all, I'd keep a stash of popsicles in the freezer - easy to get down (and up :), & will keep your glucose up (low blood sugar will make you feel even more sick).

     Hope you feel better :)

  • I'm so sorry you are suffering from M/S. It sucks! Only thing that ever worked for me was ginger ale and sucking on ginger or lemon drops.
  • Instant oatmeal is easy to get down (and won't burn like a thousand fires coming back up). I also found eating dry cereal before getting out of bed helped.

Something bubbly like ginger ale might help.
