Any tips on how to get through the favorite parent phase when LO prefers the other parent (and not you)?
I know it's nothing personal, and up til now I've been the favored parent. But now that the tables are turned, it's a combination of amusing, annoying, and sad nonetheless.
Really DD? You will let DH give you a special bite of food but not mommy? LOL. I want to cuddle with you! etc...
So do you wait it out?
Re: surviving the favorite parent phase?
Nope. Lose your patience and have another baby who will love YOU more.
I know - sometime in the past few months, "mommy's room" became "daddy's room" and my singular place in his heart widened enough to let dad in. Hmpf. What kind of gratitude is that for 9 months of providing a home, 23 months of providing breast milk, and enduring the scars of stretch marks on my belly for the rest of my life?
I have to admit this was my thought as well! I love that DS loves me so much and I'm glad he's totally fine with DH when I'm not around, but always having to be the one carrying him, getting him things, etc... is tiring.
