Hi Everyone,
So I have been doing a ton of research as I am sure you can imagine.
I thought we were set on Munire. I think I am stalling cause I don't really LOVE any of the color options any of the sets come in. They are so highly rated yet and expensive. I guess for the money I was expecting more. We went to see the Essex and the Savoy and my husband's comment was that the drawers are extremely cheap/poor quality. I am so confused. Why are they rated so high...... So then I went back to the Bonavita. We are planning on getting a lifetime crib and dresser however not using it as a lifetime set. This will get passed down. Any thoughts? I really love Stanley but I am having a hard time accepting the price tag on that.
What do you guys have? And do you like it?
Thanks,
Robyn
Re: Munire vs. Bonavita vs. ?
We have the Bonavita Peyton Lifestyle Crib. A few things I didn't realize before buying. There are only a few mobiles that fit on the crib. Luckily I registered for one that does fit. The other thing is I have a Dwell Studio (from Target) bumper and that does not fit on the crib with the mattress on the top position. I've read a lot of the convertible cribs have problems with mobiles and our particular crib has issues with bumpers. I wasn't planning on using the bumper anyway, but still a bit annoying that it can't be in there for "show", the ribbons don't reach far enough.
That being said, I love our furniture. I was also torn between the Bonavita and Munire and I don't think you can go wrong with either.

We went with the munire newport - I loved it at first sight and still love it. I also love that she will have it for a lifetime (knock on wood
). We went with the tall dresser and nightstand and I got a changing table from target that matches perfectly. I didn't want a long dresser because we didn't have enough wall space and because some of them look babyish, you know?
I have some pics of the newport in her nursery here and here (after we moved to a new house) if that helps you at all.

All i can say is i was considering Munire too b/c of babybargains rating but when i looked elsewhere online i saw alot of complaints about their finish chipping and scratching ALOT. My friend has one and hers did the same and looks terrible. Its not just the crib but the dresser too.
oh wow, that sucks! Ours has never chipped or scratched or anything! Tell your friend that Munire will send her a free thing of touch up paint. I got it just in case but I have never had to use it.

We have the Munire. I love it. We got the Espresso finish in the Majestic. The only chipping or marks we have are from DH's belt on his pants leaning over the crib and rubbing against the dresser (we use it for a changing table) I put a towel over the dresser to protect it and have a fabric protector tied to the crib.
I worked for a furniture store for several years and see nothing wrong with the quality of the drawers. They pull nicely and are dove tailed.
As far as a mobile we bought one at Pottery Barn Kids and bought the wood arm that holds it and it works fine.
We were about the purchase the Baby Dream Ocean collection due to high ratings, but shipping was going to take over 10 wks which we didn't have. After searching high / low for in stock items, we ended up with the Sorelle Alex collection, and are in love! The ratings aren't as high as the others mentioned, but the quality appears to be amazing! You can tell they are very sturdy pieces. Plus, we got it at a local store which was having a sale, and got an amazing price!

I have the Munire Urban crib, dresser, and armoire in espresso DS's room and it's lovely. It does chip slightly easier than perhaps some other ones, but our crib is still in near perfect condition (now converted to a full-size bed). The dresser has the most wear, but is still generally in great condition. And I think the drawers are very sturdy and pull out very easily. Better than many others we looked at.
We also have a Bonavita Hudson Lifestyle crib in black in DD's room. So far, it's great. Very similar in quality and sturdiness to the Munire. However, we opted to not get the matching dresser because honestly I didn't like the looks of it for the price. We decided to get an totally unrelated, white, unmatching dresser for much cheaper. I'm thinking DD will be more likely than DS to request new furniture down the line.
I bought the Bonavita Peyton Lifestyle crib, as well, but it hasn't been delivered yet. I wasn't aware that there are only few mobiles that fit the crib. Which mobile did you get that fit?
