Or I should say I talked to his nurse. As is the custom with most doctors, they act like they cannot be bothered to talk with you on the phone for two minutes. (Always a sore subject with me since I have to spend a lot of time on the phone with clients.) Anyway, he initially spoke as if I had a choice about this induction, but I guess this is not the case. He simply had his nurse tell me that I was not a good candidate for induction. So I will be going for a check-up on Thursday, but if there is no progress, he will not induce before Monday. So at least another 7 days. And fwiw, I think that he is planning on using prostaglandins to soften the cervix first, but I will have to ask on Thursday about the PM induction.
I am trying to be okay with this, but the more I think, the more I think that I will end up with a c/s anyway. Then I will be a week overdue, AND have more of a recovery. What can I do?
I've just been taking it easy, and trying to enjoy the day as much as I could. Of course, starting this afternoon, I kept getting those sharp cervical/vaginal pains that I had mentioned earlier. They have a let up a little now but for about an hour, I kept doubling over every few minutes with this sharp cervical (?) pain. No contractions. And then I kept getting sharp pains in my groin area no matter which way I would move. I don't mind pain if it is going to mean labor is coming, but these things are just plain annoying!
So basically, I will be with you all at least another week, if you'll have me!
Re: Talked to OB this afternoon . . .
ANYTHING could happen at any time- don't lose hope yet!! Just because he "thinks" your cervix isn't favorable doesn't mean that you'll end up with a c section- there's not way to know that until you've tried induction. Hang in there- waiting is the worst!!
Sorry you have to wait, but hopefully it will all work out!!
As for the PM induction, that's how we work it at the hospital I work in. If you cervix is not favorable you come in the night before and hang out in our triage where either cervadil or cytotec is placed. Then, in the morning you move out to a labor room and pitocin is started.
GL! And maybe you'll go into labor all by yourself before the week is over. You never know!!!

I hope you have progress this week. I know I'd be googling OWT about bringing on labor and trying those methods.
Of course we will still have you. Just wish your little stinker would make her entrance for your sake.

Awww, I know that frustration. But try to hang in there... you never know. Alot can happen by Thursday. I hope you go into your appt and no induction is needed since you will be in labor.
I'm sorry hon. Like the others said, alot can happen between here and Thursday.
FWIW, when I was induced with DD, my body was nowhere near "favorable" for induction. I was 37 weeks, but since I had Pre-E, we HAD to do it.
We went to L&D at 5:00 PM and they placed cervadil for 12 hours. After that, they gave me pitocin. Things just seemed to naturally work from there. I really hope you don't have to go the induction route and your LO decides to kick things into gear soon.
Your doctor shouldn't be scaring you about a c-section when induction hasn't even been tried yet. I'm sending you lots of progress vibes!!
When I had my DD they gave me 2 doses of cervadil and I was ready to push in 9 hrs; they only started the pitocin to give me more consistent contractions when it came time to push and thats it ... my cervix was not soft at all when I went in and i wasnt dialated at all. There is hope but I hope that you dont have to wait until monday since you want to get the party started!
You never know, hon. People go in for check ups and seem to have no progress, and then deliver that night. Babies are tricky little things.
I hope things move forward on their own, quicker than you were thinking.
