Ok, so I plan to BF. I will have to return to work soon after the baby is born and I was wondering what type of bottles you used. I am completely in the dark here and wanted some input from you ladies since most of you have or are BFing. Thanks!

Re: Bottles
It took 4 bottles to find one that didn't cause LO to have terrible gas and tummy pains. We are using the Nuk bottles, and they seem to be working great. We also tried Medela, Playtex Drop Ins and Dr. Browns.
I would suggest not buying more than 1 or 2 of any brand until you know what works best for LO.
We used the Playtex drop-ins
Luckily these worked for us too. You only have to clean the nipples which is what I like. Like Avery, Lydia doesn't care, she would take any bottle. Since these were easier and less expensive (you can get the generic drop in liners) I was thrilled. We had the Dr. Browns but never used them so I was able to return them.
You'll just have to see what the baby likes and go with those.
This...I like washing the parts too
. I also agree with just buying a few to help you decide...do you have a copy of Baby Bargains? It helped me a ton when deciding on many of my purchases.
I guess I'm in the minority. We have Dr. Brown's and I hate them. If we didn't have 10 of each size I'd switch to a different brand. I hate washing all the little parts every day. I wish I had used the Avent wide-necked bottles. Trying to pour BM or formula into the standard neck Dr. Browns is sometimes messy, especially if you're doing it 1 handed while holding a squirming babe in the other.
Also, I had the Avent Isis IQ Duo pump (which I LOVED so much more than the Medela I used at the hospital, btw) so if I had just bought Avent bottles I could've pumped directly into them. Oh well, you live and you learn. Next baby of mine will eat from Avent!
Amelia I don't like washing either. I hate doing dishes. Not relaxing to me at all. But everyone is different!!!

Lets see I tried Dr. Brown's, Born Free, Nuk, Avent, Playtex drop ins(fold over bags), Playtex vent aire, Playtex drop ins(preformed), Avent tempo wide drop in system.
Dr.Brown's-good but tired of cleaning
Born Free- got free with baby registry, sterilized in microwave and it turned amber, but did like.
Liked Nuk b/c the nipple was shaped like her paci
Hated playtex with the drop in bags- I always tore the tabs on the bag to much, you had to pre measure, just yuck.
Didn't try the vent-aire very much so neutral on that one.
Loved the Playtex drop ins with pre-formed inserts and both the Avent and Avent Tempo drop ins. Avent Tempo bottles are hard to find if at all, I got them at kids market but you can get the inserts at all the stores.
We used Born Free.
If you hate doing dishes, use the dishwasher and one of these
That's what I'm doing- registering for Playtex drop ins, vent aire, and Dr. Brown's- and those handy dishwasher baskets. I figure we'll just have to see what works.
