Baby Book Recs

I've come to the realization that this little one will be here before we know it and I feel like I know NOTHING about newborns.

What baby books did you find the most helpful? I'm planning on getting Baby 411 since I really liked the Pregnancy 411 book and a co-worker lent me a book on sleep training. What else do you suggest?

TIA!

Re: Baby Book Recs

  • I really liked "Your Baby's First Year Week by Week"

  • I really liked the Happiest Baby On the Block.  You can get the book or DVD.  Either way it really helps you understand what newborns need to be soothed.  All of the techniques worked really well for us (and they are super easy).

  • Ditto Baby's First Year and Happiest Baby on the Block. I also really liked The Girlfriend's Guide to the First Year - it has a lot of good information and Vicki is freaking hilarious.

  • What to expect babies first year. That plus internet and pedi got us through!

  • Baby 411 was the only real baby book I relied on.

Now, in terms of other ones, Baby Bargains was great for purchasing items (same author as Baby 411), Dr. Ferber's book was great for sleep stuff when they're older (6 mos), and the internet (eg, this board), helped me a ton too
