DH and I have been planning a huge trip to Italy since May, and since we are still trying, it looks like if we got it this month I would still be in my first tri for the trip. This makes me a little nervous, as I am the biggest puker of all time and I'm worried about MS.
Is anybody else planning any big vacations while TTGP? Do you think that we should skip the next couple of months of trying so I can enjoy myself on vaca?

Re: Is anybody else planning any big trips?
ooh Italy=fun! We have one scheduled in December to Charleston, SC; and we are looking at plane tickets for a family wedding to San Francisco this coming May. Have no idea what I'll be like this May, but worst case I can't fly, they I will save the leave for maternity leave.
Oh, and to answer your question-no! Don't stop living life for what could happen. Plan that trip!
A trip to Italy sounds divine! We aren't going as far, but we're planning a trip to Jamaica for New Years this year. I don't plan to avoid TTC because of the trip. If I'm not KU I get to party, if I am KU it will be like a little babymoon :-)
Whether you avoid TTC because of your trip is really something that only you can decide. There is always the "what if" factor (What if I'm KU? What if I'm sick, etc.) but there is no way to know that until you are in the situation. Sorry that I can't be more help, but I wish you luck figuring it out!
I suppose it depends on what the intent of the trip was.
We've been planning a trip for March/April next year, and I'd be hopefully 4 or 5 months pregnant then if it happens soon. The way I look at it is, the purpose of the vacation is for me to relax and have a break. Being pregnant isnt going to stop me from doing that. I can still enjoy the sun and beach, non-alcoholic cocktails, and awesome food, maybe a day or two at the spa
Now, if we were planning on doing a trip that was highly active and adventuresome (or even lots of partying) then I might want to contemplate doing something different instead, or planning for another time.
Good luck
My mother in law has asked us to go to Hawaii with them in February so I'm hoping to be pg by then. I didn't have any M/S with my first so I'm hoping to have none with this go around. I was just tired all the time so if anything I plan to sleep on the plane if my 3 year old will let me.
We have trip insurance on our airfare since my husband is diamond status with Delta (we can cancel with no losing our miles we used to pay). You can buy trip insurance so I'd likely do that, if you're concerned over m/s impacting your trip. I've told my husband if I'm revisiting meals that there's no way I'm spending 8 hours on airplanes.

Since I work in the Pharmacy, if I am PG I will be putting my faith in drugs and soldiering on. I was really hoping to get KU last month so we could announce it from Italy, but oh well.
We do have a pretty busy itinerary planned, but if I am PG I am hoping that the whole "OMG! I am in Italy!!!" will overcome the jet-lag, exhaustion, and all of the other symptoms I hope to be experiencing :-)
Well, I'm not planning a trip for a vacation but I am getting ready to move to Hawaii in January so if I get pregnant now I will be in the end of 1st tri or beginning of 2nd tri. We're not going to change our TTC plans at all. I know it's different from planning a vacation because you can changes dates and what not but if you do that you might end up pushing back your trip over and over again and then it may never happen. I say go and enjoy yourself.
Not a big trip, but we're thinking of going to DC in April to see the sights. It's also where DH's brothers live, so we'd be visiting them too.
Hopefully I'll be nice and comfy in 2nd tri by then!

I hope ya'll have a great time in Italy!!! I'm really JEALOUS of that!!!!
We're going on a cruise next month, which originally had made me apprehensive because if I had gotten pregnant the first go round I wouldn't have been able to go, and now here we are and I'm still not KU.
We would like to go to Europe in April, so our plan is if I'm not pregnant by December, we'll go ahead and book it!
April 2011: Metformin 1500mg + Clomid 100mg + Ovidrel + Prometrium = BFP!

We're going to Vegas in December....I'm a little nervous about possible morning sickness but I'm not letting that stop me.
I had the same concerns about a Seattle trip last month and a lake trip in June and it turned out I didn't have anything to worry about after all (unfortunately).
Trying to get sperminated since February 2010
Mar-May 2011: 3 Cycles IUI + Clomid = BFN Jan 2012: Injectables + TI = ??

I was about to say how would you be in your first Tri in May...but I get it now..lol.
Yeah DH and I are saying if we get a good chunk of change from our taxes again (we got almost 3 k last year but had to spend it on stupid bills hehe) that we are GOING TO EUROPE! We have a friend who lives in Athens, so we could stay there for free and save money.
If we went in March (when its still low season and cheap) then I'd be about 5 months along if this month took. It would be tough but we need to go before kids come along!
