Has anyone washed a babydoll in the machine?

DD has a fisher price baby doll that is looking pretty dirty. However, the tag says spot clean only. It has rubber/plastic head and limbs with a soft cloth body. Here is the type of doll

has anyone washed them in the machine? I am considering it...can't come up with what it could be harmful in the machine. then dry on combo of air fluff and low heat.

Thoughts?

  • DD has those same dolls (the "twins") and I have washed and dryed them. Here is what I did: washer- gentle cycle, cold water, dryer- low heat

  • DD has a very similar doll and I wash it all the time. I actually just wash it in the machine, then hang to dry. HTH!
  • Yes- I bought DD a doll from the DAV she fell in love with and I felt a little gross about it- so I put her in washer/dryer on gentle cycle and she came out fine. She had a mark on her head from tossing in the dryer but it rubbed off.
