Video monitor screen turning black

I have the summer b&w handheld.  Got it less than a year ago and the left side of the screen is going very dark seems like almost 1/2 inch almost blacked out.

I know I've heard of others experiencing great customer service but I didn't register (if there was a card) is that the only way I will get help if turned that card in?

I cannot live without my video monitor and I don't want to have to buy a new one after less than a year!

  • Call or email them.  I did when my handheld's battery went bad.  They sent me a replacement battery with no issues.

    They didn't ask for a receipt or anything, although I'd start looking for it, just in case.

  • I know google is my friend but google hates me, I'm no good at searching for stuff.  Can anyone point me in the right direction of finding an email addy or number to call?
  • I would call them. A receipt is all you should need if they ask you. Registration cards are a scam (ie. way to get your info so they can spam you with marketing materials) and in no way affect the warranty coverage of your product. I have the color handheld and love it. I've heard they have great customer service.

    Edited to say that maybe I was a little harsh on registration card (I just hate junk mail). They do have one benefit - if the manufacturer knows you own a product and they have a recall on it - then they can send you recall info.

  • I'm having issues with my Summer Flatscreen screen as well. It's fine during the day, but I can't see anything at night. Maybe I'll call, too!

  • Thanks so much! and DOH I have the handheld color one too, I just don't ever use it during the day so it's always black and white to me!
