attention getting screams.....

Hi Everyone,

I am hoping there is some Mom out there that might have this same problem and could help! My Son is 8 months old and in the last month or so has started screaming a lot. He isn't upset, just really excited. At first I thought it was cute but now it's just getting out of control. My husband and I have tried to ignore it thinking that would make it go away, but it's not working. It's easier to deal with at home....but when we are doing things in public (storytime, grocery store, playing with friends) he gets a lot of attention for it. Please help!

My dd did this also for a few months and than it just stopped. I actually forgot about it until I read this. It was right around that age also and she was done by 9 or 10 months. Everyone else laughed about it but it bothered me. I think it is just a phase.

DD did this around 5 months. It last a couple weeks, although I am sure we'll see it again.

Ugh. My ds just started this too. It is like he just found his voice or something and likes to hear how high it can go. I havent really done anything to make him stop, it isnt like he would understand anyway. I just wait until he is quieter and then talk and interact again with him.
