Family Getaway

My friend and I decided recently, that we'd like to do a family getaway weekend with the four of us adults (2 husbands, 2 wives) and our kids (2 6-yr olds and a 1 year old). We're thinking somewhere easily drivable, like a couple hours, tops. And somewhere with lots to do for kids, maybe a waterpark resort? Is there anything up north? I Google'd it but can't find what I need. And I'm a 'Sconnie, so I don't know what's around Minnesota, despite having lived here for 7 years now.

Any help would be awesome - thanks, gals!

    The Lodge in Brainerd still has a waterpark if that's what you're thinking plus Brainerd is a bigger town so you could get out and do things as well...I've only been at that hotel for  a work convention but it is really cool!

    Try the Edgewater in Duluth. It's got a large water park, plus you've got all the Duluth activities nearby.

    I've been to the Edge Waterpark in Duluth, perfect for families.  It is right in downtown Duluth so you could go to Canal Park, the aquarium and the zoo (although it is a pretty depressing zoo).
