Has anyone on here had an endometrioma/chocolate cyst?

Just curious.  My RE thinks I may have one on my left ovary, and I'm pretty freaked out.

    I don't even know what that is, and I might be a horrible person, but...holy crap, that sounds delicious!

    OK. Just looked them up. It sounds like they shouldn't affect egg quality, just the follicular development and ovulation itself? Are they going to do a lap?

    I'm going back in a few weeks for another ultrasound.  There's a chance it could be another type of cyst, so we'll see if it's still there.  He was talking about doing a lap and removing the cyst, but that makes me very nervous.  I've read that after having one excised, there is a good chance that the ovary won't function normally again.  I really don't want any knives near my ovaries.

    I have endo & I get alot of cysts. But I have not heard of it called that. I looked it up and I got scared.

    I hope it's nothing.
