New to The Bump

New and TTC

Hello all! Well let's see...We were married on 6/19/10, although we've been together for 4 years. I am 23 yo and my husband is 29 yo. We at first decided to wait until we had been married for 6 months. We decided to "not really try" in August after I had been having complications with my BC and decided for my health I would stop taking it altogether. I have been on BC since I was 14 yo because I was diagnosed with PCOS. I have never had a normal period ever. Since I stopped taking the pill I have had 1 cycle so far (I was shocked) and my next is supposed to be at the end of this month (we shall see). I'm trying not to get over excited because I honestly think it's going to be a while, if at all, on our own. I have been trying not to think about it and I've stopped buying HPT for a while. That was just making it worse. I started paying attention to what my body is doing now that I know how to chart correctly. I'm not going all out though. After my next cycle I'm going to start doing th BBT to get a better idea. Now that I know what to look for I'm not driving my husband crazy and wasting money on tests just to be disappointed. I'm trying not to set my hopes too high until I know my body is behaving like it should. I am so glad I can find help on the website when I need it.

Re: New and TTC

  • HI, I'm new to the Bump too. I'm not really sure what to do on here but I am sure I will get the hang of it soon. I have been with my husband for 8.5 years and married for the past 1.5. We just decided to start trying, but I could possibly be pregnant. I have been on BC  for the past 9 years and I have never missed a period except for my last one. My sister said that it happens on the BC I was taking. I took a test last week 2 days after my period was late and it was negative and I still haven't gotten my period. I am going to call my Gyno in the morning and see what she says and probably take another test.  So we'll see, and I'm glad I can talk to others on here.

Have you discussed your PCOS with your dr?

Take the test first. That way you'll know what to tell the gyn. GL!

  • Thanks!!! I am going out to get one today, so we'll see. I will let you know after I take it. Thanks!
  • I did get an online charting guide for now. It definitly helped me not obsess as much. My OBGYN does know about my PCOS but right now I am looking for a new DR. he had me on metaformin which i had taken before but now i'm having issues with it. once i find a new Dr i'll be able to get more information
  • Best of luck to you! I have PCOS as well and it took 2 years for us to get pg...I took metformin for awhile but was not taking it when I got pregnant.
