We eat a ton of shrimp and crab and LO has no food allergies (haven't tried shellfish or peanuts yet though). We don't plan to introduce peanuts until a couple years from now, but what about shellfish?
We already did - to be honest I didn't know it was a no-no but we introduced cooked shrimp at just over a year.
We also did peanut butter (just a bit) yesterday.
No allergies! I would think shrimp is okay as long as it's cooked.
That's great! I love your siggy pic by the way. I'm glad shrimp turned out fine for you-we're thinking of trying this. It's such a great, easy protein and we'd really like to incorporate it into LO's diet since we eat so much of it.
We have already done both. We did it right after DS first birthday. No one in either family is allergic so we felt fine giving it to him. He likes shrimp and crab. He doesn't like peanut butter.

At around 8 months...7 months for peanut butter, both with pediatrician's approval. The American Academy of Pediatrics published a position paper stating that there is no known benefit of delaying allergenic foods after 6 months (as long as there is no family history of food allergies), and actually waiting too long to introduce certain foods can cause food allergies to occur.
We have not tried any. I might let him try peanuts after next appointment. I just want to talk to pedi first. shellfish I will wait till atleast 2. My sister is does have shellfish allergies,so I just feel its best to wait.
He tested negative for shellfish (we have a string family history of allergies), but I'm still scared to try it. Which is silly, I know, because I would tell anyone else to do it. You, for example, should justbgo for it!
We will not do shellfish or peanuts till around 3. I am allergic to shellfish so we don't eat it anyways. And my BIL is allergic to peanuts so Ped and allergist said no to either of them.
