Hey ladies! I've come to the realization that I haven't been eating great recently and I would really like to turn it around as much as I can. Dinners haven't been hard because DH likes to cook and we usually do something remotely healthy. I'm looking for healthy breakfast and lunch choices as well as healthy snack ideas. Just wanted to see what your favorites are. Thanks!
Re: healthy meal and snack ideas
I've been hitting-up Trader Joe's for snacks. I bought a yummy bag of almonds there for about $5. I keep them with me for when I just have to eat. Also, they have lots of dried fruit and such.
For lunch I do a lot of salads and soup. Also, lots of Subway veggie subs when we go out for work.
I've bought BellyBars and used those for snack time too. They are a little expensive, but I feel more comfortable with them than protein or energy bar.
I'm loosely following the Bradley diet so every morning I have 2 eggs, a slice of toast, a slice of low-fat cheese and a glass of milk. It lasts me a looong time. I boil the eggs the night before since I don't have time in the morning.
Lunch is a salad with various veggies and a protein, or leftovers.
Snacks are usually cheese sticks and fruit.
Breakfast is usually yogurt and granola or a bowl of Special K and a banana. If I'm especially hungry I'll scramble up an egg with a little cheese and onion/green peppers and wrap it in a wheat tortilla. Lunch lately has been soup and salad or PB&J so pretty boring!
For snacks I'll be doing Fiber One bars, apples, pretzles and hummus, string cheese and crackers
