Quick Baby Shower question...

My gf is throwing us a baby shower today, it's a brunch style.  Anyhow, she used evites to invite guest.  I don't have some of the guests address.  My thought was I can bring a little address book to get their address.  Is it tacky to ask at the baby shower?  Thanks.

    I wouldn't think so.  I've even heard of people doing Thank-You Note Stations where they address the front of the card envelope so the Mom-to-be doesn't have to do it later.

    While I personally have no problem w/ this (I don't take how the envelope is addressed as the mom being lazy, not caring about our gifts, etc) - many people find this uber-tacky.    

    OP - I think it's fine to take your address book and get people's addresses.  And you don't even have to make it about "so I can send you a Thank you", you  can say "in putting together the guest list, I realized how many addresses I was missing.".

    Having your guests address their own envelopes is tacky.  

    You can get a "guest book" which will often have a spot for people to include addresses.

    Or "just make sure the address is correct" you will want to send announcements and Christmas cards.

    This. Take an address book and tell them you just want to make sure you have everyones current address.

    I agree - having the guests address the invites is terrible.. very tacky & I actually had to do it at a shower I attended last year.  (I will add that I was invited to the shower by the hostess so I could meet some of her friends - also tacky)  I was not the only one addressing my own thank you envelope though LOL
