I'm fairly new to this one - the Alabama board that is. So far I've just mostly been lurking over here for about a week or so. I've been mostly on the February 2011 Moms and 2nd Trimester boards; but, would now like to join you ladies too. My name is Wilma and we've been living in the state for about 20 months now. DH and I are having our house built in Madison County near the town of Madison. We moved here from Tennessee so we've been you're neighbors for some time. Both DH and I are graduates from UT in Knoxville. We've been married just over 2 years now and are expecting our first child in February '11. Well enough about that for now.
I realize there's a large German population concentrated within the Madison, Morgan, Marshall County area. So I was just wondering if anyone knows someone who has a good recipe for 'Ole Fashion Original German Potato Salad'. Who wouldn't mind sharing it with me. I'd love to make a bowl to carry to one of our church social/fellowship meals sometime.
Thanks ever so much for any responses. May the Lord Bless You All!
Re: Intro and a request:
Congrats and welcome! I'm in Limestone Co and work in Madison Co.
This is the German Potato Salad I usually make. Its the closest to my grandmothers I have found.

Erin&Gregg07 - I wish to thank you for the recipe link. I have looked at it - it looks like one I'm about to try at home on Fred (my DH) then share it with others at our next church social. I will need to increase the quantity for that since there're usually about 80 people for those fellowship meals.
Well I'm going to just add this since I mentioned DH's name. I know Fred and Wilma (the Flintstones) and yes we are known as the "Flintstones"
Welcome to the board.
My MIL is German. I'll get her recipe for you tomorrow
