What is the going rate for a TEEN babysitter?

I am just wondering what the going rate is for a babysitter these days.  What do you pay your sitter for a night out?  It's been a few years since I was a teen myself and the going rate back then was $3.50 to $4.00.  I am sure it has gone up quite a bit in 15 years.  HA!  I asked my potential sitter and she so sweetly said "I don't know, you decide".  I want to pay her the going rate of course and a little more.

    I just do $5 an hour.  I usually tell them that is what I pay when I ask them if they want to babysit.  I know I might be on the cheap side, but you can always find someone who will play with a little kiddo and get paid, whatever the amount.

    We pay around $6 per hour.

    I pay $5/hour for a 13 year old, with a $15 minimum.  (I wouldn't normally use a 13 yo, but I was her nanny for 8 years, so I have a certain level of trust and familiarity there)

    Older teen, say 16+, I would pay closer to $10/hour

    I remember getting 10 bucks an hour from a really nice family.  I always went out of my way to babysit for them...rarely turned them down. :o)  Otherwise, I think I got around 6-7.  I never gave them an amount, I always just told them whatever they thought was fine.
