Success after IF

So, I will stop being tired in about 18 years, right?

LOL... I don't even remember anymore what it feels like to not be exhausted...

  • It just becomes your new normal:)  Then one day they sleep through the night and you lay there wide awake wondering what on earth you're supposed to do with yourself and all of this time on your hands!

  • Things will get much better once he starts sleeping completely through the night on a regular basis.  However, that has been the case for us for over 6 months...and I'm still exhausted.

My mom is coming over tonight so she can watch G for us in the morning and I am not sure how I will stay up beyond 9:30 if she doesn't get here soon.

  • my mom said it gets bad again during the teenage years when you worry about them staying out late at night. I'm hoping I get to STTN soon! (and I hope you can too!)

rats, i was hoping that the teenage years would be better for sleep, since those are the years when our kids won't want us around! :P

  • I am very excited that my DS has been STTN for awhile now, but I tell you....even though I get about 7-8 hours of sleep a night, sometimes I think I am more tired and confused now!  Before I was on auto pilot and my main objectives were to change, feed, and keep the baby happy.

Now I feel like I have all these other "things" in my brain...like feeding him solids, what kind of toys should he have, am I reading to him enough, I better start baby proofing the house, how is his college fund doing, etc, etc. I can't seem to shut off my brain when I go to bed!

I think we are just going to be tired for 18 years!  : )

  • Haha honestly it gets SO much better around 6 months.  For us that is when we were able to start sleep training and they started STTN it was HEAVEN and I haven't been tired sense haha.  It WILL happen!

  • eventually...you just learn to be productive with less sleep.  i just had to go to bed early with my son...bedsharing to get enough sleep but he went to bed at 9pm.  it gets better.  my son started STTN at 11.5 m so exhaustion can last forever.  you will sleep again
  • Yea, and imigane having another on top of that. It's not even the STTN, it's taking care of a little person, DH, pets, and yourself all day.

We take day trips a lot and yesterday we took DD out for a short day trip. We left at 8am, got home about 5 and I was wiped out... could've gone straight to bed, but it was dinner, bath, bedtime routine etc. There is just no time to rest!
