Grrr.
Male PMS. Idiotmanitis. Not sure which. Either way, DH is having his once-yearly bout of absolute douchey behavior and I'm about to lock him in the duck house.
Our dishwasher has broken three times since we bought it in May 2009. -- this last time it's been broken since the end of February. It was under warranty when it broke, but he never got around to calling about the break until after our warranty expired in May because he thought he could fix it himself.
So it took him til JUNE to call American Express (they offer extended warranty plans for stuff you purchase w/ your card). They said it would be no problem and we'd hear back in 48 hrs about how to proceed. Amex never called and it took DH til the end of July to call them back-- only to discover that our claim had been placed on suspension awaiting further info. All we needed to do was get a quote for how much the repair would cost, and they'd either repair or replace the dishwasher (hooray!).
It's now mid-October, still no call/quote/working dishwasher so I decided to start calling repair centers to get the darn thing fixed myself. The Amex card/ warranty paperwork is in DH's name so I've not been able to talk to Amex about the claim, but at least I could call to get a repair quote.
I finally found a repair center for Samsung that will come to BFE northern IL and they'll be out next week to take care of the dishwasher.
Except I told them the wrong thing that was broken on it. (::head desk::) I confused one of the old issues w/ what's actually wrong with it this time.
I told DH this (after having called the repair center back to clarify and they said it was no big deal) and he literally just flipped his ***. Stomping in the house, slamming doors, etc. And then he had the nerve to tell me that I should have "just left this to him to fix" since "he knew this would happen" if I tried to take care of it.
Whoa Nelly. What happened to my sweet husband?!
Also, cookies if you made it this far.

That was my thought too. I seriously cannot wrap my brain around what was such a freaking mortal sin. Yeah, I made a mistake in telling the repair company which thing was broken (uh, it broke EIGHT MONTHS AGO?!) but it was easily remedied and will still be fixed next week.
Yeesh.
Also? Don't ever buy a Samsung dishwasher. This thing was very expensive and we've had nothing but problems with it.
This
Whoa! Ditto MW.
::shares chocolate::
Sigh.
We just got our savings back within a normal range after the basement flood debacle over the summer and we're finally TTC again (though I don't know how I'm supposed to have sex w/ him when he won't talk to me
).If it weren't for that + the fact that Amex will probably be getting us a new one anyways, I'd be at Home Depot getting myself a new dishwasher instead of playing on BOTB.
