I'm getting ready to order some stuff from Gap and Old Navy for Bambino (let's be real, and me too) and I'm unsure what size to order for him.
He just hit 3 months and fits 3-6 months well (haven't tried clothes marked with only 6 months yet). I had initially picked all 3-6 months but now I'm thinking I should go ahead and get 6-12 months since it's mostly winter items and he'll probably be wearing some of it into March...thoughts? Thanks!
ps One thing I like about posting is that writing it out often validates what I'm thinking...why is that?

Thanks for the input! I learned with my nieces and nephews that the sizes were more guidelines but now that I'm funding the wardrobe for my own kid it makes seem more difficult...or maybe that I just make it that way haha
He's definitely growing so much though - I worked yesterday so I didn't really get to see him at all and today it was like holding a different kid!
I like that "expiration date" idea - that's about right!
Also, if you got a bunch of 3-6 month stuff, it's likely that it'll shrink in the wash at least a little, and he'll outgrow it even faster.
I think it depends on wear the baby hits on the growth charts. When DD was younger and around the 50th percentile she would start wearing the clothes later (e.g., started wearing 0-3 at 3 months, 3-6 at 6 months). Now that she's in 75th percentile she is catching up, but she still is mostly wearing 24 month clothes (she's 25 months old).
