I got Eli a fleece sleep sack with sleeves last week, but am wondering how to use it with other clothes. What do you dress him in underneath it? Sometimes he feels a little cool (core temp, not hands/feet) in his fleece sleeper, so I thought he may at least need a short-sleeved onesie underneath the sack and maybe pants... I also don't want him to get too hot... Of course it depends on how cold it is, but 40-degree nights may warrant it.
What do you do or what are your thoughts?
TIA!
Re: Sleep sack question
I hadn't even thought about those as we still *kinda* swaddle Lydia. She likes being wrapped up in the blanket. So we still have her in onesies or footed pjs.
I think he'd be fine in a onesie underneath.
Of course I question everything now, moreso now than before.
We still put Kennedy in a sleep sack every night. She's probably a little old for it, but otherwise she won't use a blanket. Ours is the Halo sleep sack without sleeves. She has a few fleece ones that we use year round.
In the summer we just have her regular, cotton pajamas underneath. I'm wierd though, I put her in long sleeve pajamas year round because I worry about her getting cold. We keep our house cold at night.
During the fall and winter I put her in fleece footie pajamas with the fleece sleep sack on top of that. If it was really cold, she used to wear a onesie under the footie pajamas.

We have the sleep sack without the sleeves and Miller's been using it for a few night now. We put him in cotton footed pajamas and then use the sleep sack.
Lydia, does Kennedy do well in the fleece pj's, like she doesn't seem to get to hot? I was wanting to get Miller some but was worried they would be to hot with the sleep sack.
I usually put M in a cotton footie sleeper in the cotton sleep sack, but since it's gotten a little bit colder I've started putting her in either cotton footies with a fleece sleep sack, or fleece footies with a cotton sleep sack. I'm sure once it gets a lot colder we'll put her in both fleece.
No, Kennedy never seems too hot or sweaty or anything like that. But, we also keep our house very cold at night.

Payton is very warm natured, so we only use the cotton sleeveless Halo sleep sacks.
In the spring/fall when it's still warmer, we put her in a short sleeve onesie and the sleep sack.
In the winter, we put her in a long sleeve onesie, socks and the sleep sack.
In the summer, she sleeps in just a onesie.
She is very warm natured though and if we put her in anything heavier or more underneath, she wakes up crying/sweating in the middle of the night. Initially, I would just check her throughout the night to make sure her hands/feet were warm and this is what worked for us.
Lydia, we keep our house cool at night too in the Summer and I've been keeping him in footed cotton pjs or LS onesies, pants, and socks. So I think at the very least, I'll put a SS onesie and socks on him for now. When it gets really cold, I can keep him in fleece sleepers and a sleeves halo fleece sack... I will also get him the cotton sleep sack for the not so cold nights.
Thanks ladies! I'm so glad I can ask you these kinds of questions!
Avery would have never tolerated that much heat - but she's a unique kid. It's a miracle these days if I can get her to wear pants at night. and she has refused to have her feet covered since she was 6 months old (I would sneak in and put socks on her when she was sleeping!).
We didn't/do not use one either. J is a hot sleeper, he can be in short sleeves/thin pants and still wakes up sweating sometimes...and we keep our house really cool.
Plus, he can't stand to be that confined...he was coming out of the swaddle even in the hospital!
That's Lydia!!!
We haven't ever used one either...like ya'll Aubrey didn't do the swaddle thing. Plus she's a hot natured baby...gets it from her daddy.
