I hate Buy Buy Baby - vent ahead, beware

I went there to buy a baby shower gift for a girl I don't really like. Add to that, the fact that I had to surround myself with adorable baby things and pregnant women. I was already dreading the trip before I even walked into the store. First of all, that store is awful- terribly organized, too expensive, just overall annoying. I was in there for an hour and a half before I found something that was actually on her TWENTY-FOUR page registry (front and back!). I even had help from an employee for half of that time! Between the pregnant women and newborns all around, I nearly brokedown. Then, heres the fact that this girl was able to get pregnant before me- they didn't even try (of course!) and she is honestly the dumbest person I know. I'm not saying that to be mean, I mean that she is TRULY not smart. So naturally, I hated buying a baby gift for her, in particular. She had 4 pages of Disney forks,spoons, plates, and cups! Does she really think the baby will come out knowing how to use a fork?! Uuugghh. To make matters worse, dh called at the height of my frustration and I took it all out on him. Crappy Friday afternoon! Sorry for the vent, but thanks for letting me get it out of my system.

Forget using a fork, my friend registered for THREE different potty chairs for her shower last month! I refused to buy one on principle, plus she'll probably lose it or forget she had it before the kid ever needs a potty chair! UGH!

I'll vent with you -

I was just in a wedding for my sister and she had 10 bridesmaids, one of whom was the BM from hell. She was a nasty *** to me through the entire process (I was MOH) and started so much drama it was ridiculous. Pretty much right after we were both asked to be bridesmaids, she and I began TTC and, of course, she had instant success and we are still TTC and seeing IF docs almost two years later! After all the drama, she had the nerve to ask my sister if she would be ok with a pregnant MOH! What?! She is also dumb, like your girl. She just had her baby in July.

Sometimes life isn't fair! Hang in there! It will always be easy for some people, even if we don't understand why!

Seeing the stupid things people put on their registries is the only thing that gets me thru baby shower shopping. I mean, alphabet books? Silverware? Clothes for age 1+? Why should I buy those things for your baby? Why do you want to store them for so long before you can possibly use them?
