xp: Best per diaper price?

Hello!  Do any of you savvy ladies know what your best price per diaper is regularly?  We only use Pampers and I don't know what a good deal is.  If any of you have a magic number it would be really helpful so I know which sales to stock up on.  Thanks so much!

Re: xp: Best per diaper price?

  • it depends on the size of the diaper.

here is babycheapskates' 'price to beat' list.

however- i ALWAYS do much much better than these prices.

I never pay more than 10 cents for huggies/pampers in size 4

  • That chart is great, thank you!  Where do you get your diapers.  10 cents is fantastic.  I'm looking to start buying size 2.

  • I never pay more than 10 cents a diaper. I do collect coupons when they are out there and wait for sales. I have stocked up on diapers big time. Watch for sales and stock up :)

  • Honestly? For the price - cloth. It'll save you thousands over the course of your kids.

but if that's not your thing - that chart is awesome.

  • i do mostly CVS Rite aid and walgreens . learning how to shop at the drugstores with the rewards is usually the cheapest way to buy diapers.

  • I should give luvs a try.  Huggies don't work for him so we've been using just pampers.  I've been doing good at RiteAid but I just wanted to be able to check.  I have not gotten near 10 cents!  Pamper is pretty tight with the coupons too.  There's a good deal at ShopRite right now so I think I'm going to get some in the next size.  Thanks!!!

you have to roll UP rewards towards diapers. So you buy what you need and what is on sale, coupled with coupons, to get UP rewards and you then buy the diapers when they are on sale, with a coupon, AND rewards. That is how you do it for the least amount of money out of pocket.

  • I agree that cloth is the frugal way to go. I have used them on my boy since the umbilical cord fell off. With my initial investment of $400 and maybe $25 in washing them at home, we have just passed the 10 cent mark per diaper wear - but he's got at least 9 more months in them so in the end I'll probably have spent less than 5 cents per diaper! (FYI - you can have a much smaller initial investment, I didn't pick the cheapest options.)
  • Just an FYI... Coupons are definitely the best way to get deals.  If you're like me, you don't have time (or aren't willing to make the time, is more like it)... In which case, sign up for Amazon's Subscribe and Save.  Jackson's in Size 4's and I'm able to get a box of 180 Luvs for $24.00 shipped.  By far the cheapest price for diapers, unless you're using coupons.

Ditton on the Amazon thing! Sign up for Amazon mom, and you get boxes of diapers for 30% off and free 2 day shipping. I buy my older son's diapers and recently paid $26 for a box of size 5 Pampers Baby Dry- 156 count. Yes, that same box would cost over $40 at BRU. I also do swagbucks and use mine for amazon giftcards that I apply towards diaper purchases. My next box will only be $21.

better than $.10/dipe if you use them for more than one kid!
