1st Birthday Gift Ideas

My nephew is turning 1 next month. Any ideas on a good birthday gift? I'm open to toys or something sentimental. I remember someone had a picture of a sand table--I've never seen one before. Would that make a good gift? I don't know anything about 1 year old boys!

Books like Winnie the pooh, Peter rabbit, dr seuss, etc? Something that his parents can read with him for the next few years. They make gift sets with these I think. Another idea is wooden blocks/the big legos. I think the big legos used to be called duplos, not sure if they still are. Building toys are fun
