TTC After a Loss

I need to stay away from personal grooming devices

My hairdryer blew up on me today.  Literally.  I flipped the switch to turn it on, I heard a loud POP, saw smoke and a huge orange spark.  And then it was dead.  And so was my outlet.

I think I am just going to stop trying to primp, it is getting dangerous!

  • Apparently appliances have something against your hair.  Maybe you should just go bald?

I am halfway there anyway between my naturally thin hair and it falling out because of the thyroid stuff.  Maybe I will pull a Brittany and just shave it off!  I am sure that would go horribly wrong somehow too.

  • Diet Coke almost came out of my nose when I read the subject of your thread.

You're having a tough week in the personal grooming department!

    I heart the graphic!

How did you fix it?  DH was still sleeping, so I didn't do anything.  We are renting right now and I don't want to have to call the landlord since they just spent 2 months fixing our air conditioning.

  • Ha! That sounds scary.

Once I was traveling in England and stupidly didn't use an adapter when I tried to blow dry my hair and sparks shot out. I was scared to blow dry my hair for months after.

Hahaha.  I pretty much melted everything I owned when I studied abroad in the UK.  Even if you have the adapters they are not meant for 6 straight months of use.  I was dumb.

  • Oh my you have bad luck! That is too funny combined with your other mishap.

Until you buy a new one, you can use your car's heater. I rarely blowdry my hair because it's so long, but when I do I do it in the car. Saves time!

  • LOL! That's funny. Sorry, but it is. When you combine nearly catching your hair on fire with chopping your hair off with a bikini trimmer, that's some pretty funny shlt. I agree with the PP. I think something's telling you to go au natural for a while...stay away from scissors.

  • Is it bad that reading this title made me think of "personal grooming" down there? Embarrassed  I had visions of razor knicks or a trimmer gone bad.  Ouch.
