I'm just curious how many people did it, saw a commercial about it earlier.

Re: Cord blood banking
It was something we had to plan for months before delivery. There was a screening process and everything. They then sent us a kit to bring along to the hospital.
I tried to donate mine but was super ticked at the outcome. I went through this extensive survey to make sure I was a suitable donor, and when we called the company to pick up the vial, they told me that we hadn't collected enough! Nowhere on the materials did it specify how much we had to collect for donation.
In the end, the hospital just discarded the cord blood. What a waste. I wish someone could have used it.
It was offered through our hospital. I wasn't under the impression we had to do anything beforehand, but maybe we did & that's why it didn't happen.
I went into labor early, unexpectedly & while DH was OOT, so I just didn't think of it until later. I'll have to be better prepared next time.
I was going to donate but I delivered on a Sat. They only picked up samples Mon-Fri.
I would never pay to have it banked, just a scam they guilt you in to.
