Yes Yes and YES. E was BADDDDDD. I will say the ONLY thing that saved me was The Happiest Baby on the Block DVD...you need to buy it NOW and watch it. The 5 S's are amazing and it truly did work for us. And then at 12 weeks it was like a light switch and E was SUCH a good baby. It was SOOOOO strange it like she woke up one morning and boom it was over and shes been great ever sense. I know you are about to lose it...hang in there sweetie! I SWEAR this too shall pass!!!! I LIVED by that motto haha.

Thanks. One dr. said colic, one said reflux. He's been on zantac (and fine since Sat.) but now eating like a maniac again....sigh.....he fits into 6 mos clothing already???
Our miracle IVF baby - D 6/09 & J - Surprise! born 9/10!!!
Poor reese was colicy and had reflux. Around the same time every evening, she would start the crying-I called it the witching hour! Hell, I tell ya! But we survived and you will too! I found that stripping her down to her diaper, putting her in the moby and bouncing on the yoga ball helped calm her.
And like pp said, it was like one day, the switch was shut off and she was the happiest little thing.
The only positive of colic was weight loss! I swear I walked a million miles in those few weeks! lol!

DD used to cry all the time... I couldn't take her out because she'd start randomly screaming and we'd have to leave. The only thing that calmed her was nursing.
Her pedi put her on zantac and she did start to improve. Around the 12 week mark she really started to calm down and by 4 months old we had a happy baby.
Thanks! David had silent reflux and zantac cured him practically overnight. Jacob has been doing fine all week and then tonight wants to eat, eat, eat. Did I mention he's 14 lbs. at 6 weeks = crazy! Thanks for letting me know there is a light at the end of the tunnel, I feel like I'm losing my mind googling stuff!

YES!!! That was Brady. It was bad. I remember my single worst night as a mother was when I was home with him all day (DH had left for work at 7am) and then went to an NBA game right after work and didnt get hom until after midnight. Brady started crying at 3 in the afternoon and was still screaming when DH got home after midnight. At 3 months he got better, by the time he could sit up at 5.5 months it was a lot better, and when he learned to walk at 12 months he became a VERY easy and delightful toddler. He was pretty high maintenence that first year, but after that 3 month mark every month after that seemed to get a little easier.
You will make it through, and it will get better...I promise!
I have zero tips because we never found anything that worked for B's colic. It was awful. There were days he would scream from 9 or 10 am until bedtime. It was horrible.
The best part was right as his colic was easing, he started teething! Wahoo! (at least we could do something about that!)
UGH! colic is awful! every afternoon I would dread the setting sun. the minute it got dark the crying started and lasted a few hours. all I could do was pace back and forth, back and forth in the apartment to calm the little girl. my pedi put ginny on a pro-biotic drop which seemed to give her some relief.
then one day, the colic stopped. I'm sorry you're going through this.

YES, DD cried for basically every moment she was awake from about week 2-13. I would just sit and cry with her b/c there was nothing I could do. I wouldn't dare leave the house with her b/c she'd typcially scream. She was on 3 different reflux medicines and nothing helped. DH was working mad overtime and I was basically doing things by myself. We found out DD had an allergy to milk sugar (human and animal milk), so when I stopped BF and put her on specialized formula she was stopped screaming within 2 days. But I have to tell you, I agree with PP on "happiest baby on the block". It was a life saver. That and we went through 3 hair dryers b/c she would calm with the sound of the hair dryer and vacuum. Also swaddling her and swinging her gently in a blanket (called it her baby hammock) worked really well. Sometimes it was the only way she would sleep.
But now, I think she got all her screaming out b/c she rarely cries and is a very happy baby:-) Good luck and there is hope!

Yes, it's every evening, except it's like the witching "five to six" hours.
