Just trying to guess what my odds are of passing the 3 hr based on my number from the 1 hr. (I passed easily in my first pregnancy.)
Anyway, if you failed, can you tell me what your number was (or how many points you were over the threshhold)? Also, did you then fail or pass the 3 hr?
Thanks so much.
Re: If you failed your 1 hr glucose test, please come in!
I failed the one hour. I got a 136 and my Peri wanted to see it below 134. Then I passed the 3 hour with flying colors. Good luck!
Oh and I have been meaning to tell you that I absolutely love your new siggy! So stinkin adorable!
I was at 163 for my 1 hour -- the cutoff was 135! But I very easily passed my 3 hour.
Similar situation 3 years ago -- I don't know my 1 hour number, but I very easily passed my 3 hour.
Have protein for dinner the night before!

I failed 1 hour in each pregnancy! With the twins I had it done twice - 159 and 147. 3 hour i passed with flying colors. With brady I think i was 140 on 1 hour but I passed on the 3 hour.
After I failed the last time my OB said it was point less for me to ever do a 1 hour again because I seem to fail no matter what. He said PCOS is probably the reason why i kept failing. So if i have anymore he said skip 1 hour and go straight to 3 hour
Okay, the bigger numbers make me feel a bit better. My OB wanted below 130! And my number was 158.
I thought I was totally screwed for the 3 hr. Hopefully I'll pass... I just know I'm going to be nauseous (and hungry) the whole time, which does not sound pleasant at all!
I'm also feeling SO much guilt for how I've been eating this pregnancy. I was so so healthy with DS1, but this time I've just been so unfocused and lazy. Guilt, guilt, guilt!
I once had a picture until the trolls showed up.

With Brady I failed the 1 hour by just a few points. At this point I dont remember the cut off, or what I had...but I remember I failed by about 5 points. I went on to pass the 3 hour with flying colors.
Thankfully, I passed the 1 hour with Nolan.
First pregnancy: Failed the 1 hour in a bad way. It was a 205. I passed the 3 hour.
Second pregnancy: Failed the 1 hour barely. I had a 150. Failed the 3 hour - gestational diabetes.
Has been pretty easy to control with diet alone.

TTC Journey Over~ Not By Choice
Huh, so it seems like things are really kind of all over the place. Strange that one number doesn't seem to have anything to do with the next.
And yeah, I know eating habits don't technically cause GD, but I still feel guilty that I may have been making poor choices, resulting in the LO overproducing insulin in compensation. The thing is, I've been meaning to get more high protein snacks, etc., but have just been so lazy about it... I've also indulged a lot in this pregnancy, whereas with DS1, sweets made me feel sick so I avoided them entirely. I can't help feeling like the difference in my behavior in each pregnancy will have an effect on the kids' future health. DS1 is truly the healthiest kid I know. He has been sick all of twice in his 2+ years (only once on anti-b's) and has never had a diaper rash. Just can't help worrying about this LO.
To pass the 3 hour, you have to pass three of the four draws (fasting, 1 hour, 2 hour, 3 hour). So for me, my 1 hour is always crazy high, but I'm always quite low at fasting as well as at 2 and 3 hours. Oddly yesterday I passed at 1 hour too, even with the identical number as 3 years ago, but the cutoff was higher than 3 years ago (different office) -- of course I would have passed anyway because of the other three draws. In other words, the actual number for the 1 hour test doesn't matter so much since it's only 1 of 4 draws of the 3 hour.
And there's barely a word of your second paragraph that doesn't apply to me too! Well, I didn't get sick from sweets with #1, but I've been much less healthy in every way this time.
Kira is so healthy and I'm worried this one is screwed from the get go.
