DH & I are TTC, but I have a completely unrelated question. After you had your baby, how long did you bleed? I've heard 6 weeks is the norm, but I've also heard that BF can shorten it to about a week. What was your experience? Thanks!!!

about 3 1/2 weeks PP probably needed just a panty liner after that for about a week and then nothing. I EBF as well. I will say, one thing I didn't expect was for it to go from light pink, back to bright red, to yellow, etc. it was all over the place...but turned back bright red when I did too much.

It was different with both kids, but with LO#1 I was FF and bled for 7 weeks.

With this one I was 3 weeks when the bleeding stopped, but still have a yellowish discharge.

I am 13 days pp and still bleeding. Like the pp have said, it changes to heavier or redder if I do too much.

I EBF'd for the first 4 weeks and I bleed pretty heavy the first day or two (while in the hospital) and after that I bled pretty light until 4/5 wk pp. It would stop and start again and it wasn't really heavy. The first week is the hardest between cramping, soreness, nipples are tender and you're just a bit overwhelmed over all, but it goes by fast.

I EBF and I bled for about 4 weeks (although I had this yellowish discharge for about a week after that). Now...my vagina/perineum hurt until about 8 weeks. I had a 1st degree tear.

I am EBF...bled for 2 days and then only needed a panty liner for a few days and that was it. Way less than I was expecting. I think the breastfeeding helped a lot. Every time I would feed him in the first few days I had a lot of contracting and my stomach was completely flat in 2 days and I'm pretty sure that was from the breastfeeding.

EBF and my bleeding pretty much stopped at 2 weeks.. just some occasional light spotting another week or so past that.

I stopped bleeding around 2 weeks pp and then spotted a little around 6 weeks. I asked my OB and she said since I'm breastfeeding its normal to have bleeding come and go.

I bled really heavy for about 2 weeks, then it was just gone - went from heavy to nothing almost overnight. Since then, I had 1 day last week that I had a little pink on the tp when I wiped. I also EBF.
