I totally remember watching this as a kid, I always remembered it was orange crayons they showed. I remember the girl looking at the crayon & putting it up to her eye.

I loved that as a kid! It was one of my favorite parts of sesame street. DD has a crayola crayon maker at home maybe we will be making some this weekend.

That's what I remembered, too. I've watched it about four times already. The Mr Rogers one is cool, but I HATE the way he says "crayons." It's almost "crans."
Does anyone remember the Sesame Street video when they made a stamp and it went through the whole process? I think it was a stamp with a cartoon photo of a dog or something. Loved that too

yes!! We need to find that on YouTube.
I remember Reading Rainbow used to have some cool things on it too. They had one guy who used to make scenes out of old dresser drawers. He did one where he made a shadow box cowboy scene w/ a sunset in the background.
Thank you for posting that video link. Call me crazy but I'm a bawling mess now, overloaded with happy childhood memories.
My other fav one was the one where the girl took her llama to the dentist. I have wanted a llama ever since I saw that. How cool would it be to walk down the streets with a llama, seriously?!
There's a Reading Rainbow episode I was obsessed with and would watch it daily in the hopes I could see it again. Now, when I could probably find it, I can't remember what it was. I just searched for it a couple of years ago, so I think the baby ate my brain.

I wonder if this is a midwestern thing because that's how I say crayons. I don't say the "y"... Do you say cray-ons? (I have heard it both ways)

That's the one! Ahh, memories...

c/p 4/1/11
DD2: milk and soy protein intolerant, allergic to eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, bananas

I remember both of these. Is it strange that I like the smell of crayons?
Side note, my first dog was named Barkley (from Sesame Street).
