Babies: 3 - 6 Months

The MIL hate goes on...

So I posted last week about how MIL went through my stuff on my desk, found a bill for my malpractice insurance, then called DH to criticize my parents for not paying it for me since I work in my dad's office.  MIL called DH the next day and apologized, and he told her she has to apologize to me directly because I was SO mad at her.

She hasn't apologized yet.  I saw her on Monday, but FIL was around so I figured she didn't want to say anything in front of him.  She came over to babysit today, and she still didn't apologize.  Then she asked if she should log into the guest account on my computer, and I said "I'd really rather you use DH's computer", because she knows I'm pissed she went through my stuff.  It was the perfect opportunity to say "oh, I'm sorry I snooped" but nope.  Nothing.  She just said "oh, ok!"

Then she took pics of me feeding DD her cereal tonight and e-mailed the pics to her entire mailing list and I look DISGUSTING.  I'd never do that to someone - if I have an unflattering pic, I'd crop it or send another pic from the series... I know DD is the focal point of the photos and nobody's probably even gonna notice I'm in it, but I'm still really embarrassed.

Oh, and I got some  samples of some hair products at the SYTYCD concert the other night and I counted them before I left for work... one's missing.  Hmmmmm... did someone go snooping again?

  • Every morning when I put on the news I'm waiting to hear the headline, "Local dentist kills obnoxious mother-in-law".

HAHAHA!!!!!! This just made my night :)
  • I know how you feel about a MIL invading your privacy. My MIL visited us for a month from overseas, and she snooped through my stuff every time I left the house. I'd find things in our master bedroom moved, like she was going through drawers and our bathroom cabinets, and one day I came home to find she had gone into my closet and tried on every pair of my shoes. How did I know this? I am very particular about lining my shoes up in their boxes, heel to toe, and she had just shoved them back in the boxes. Lord knows the kind of personal stuff she found out about me because I keep old letters, etc.

I have no good advice for you because I just chose to not confront my MIL about it because our time was limited. If she was at my house all the time like yours is, I'd go loco.

I had no clue Mopsie was a dentist either!

  • My MIL is kind of the same...if my house isn't 100% spotless she "cleans" while she is here. I have actually had jewelry turn up missing in the past and while I can't prove it I know in my heart what happened. :(

  • Put sex toys and lube in drawers and places you don't want her snooping...if she finds those she'll likely be weirded out and it could stop her...or slow her down...I was very snoopy in my parents room as a teenager, until I found their soft porn stash and Hitachi magic wand...I still have nightmares :)

AHAHAHA!  I agree.  My dad used to have a sock with cash in his drawer, and it wasn't until I found a box of condoms in that drawer too did I stop stealing $20s.

  • Ugh MIL stayed with DH last week while I was out of town for work to help out.  Now I'm worried about what she did while he was at work.  Good thing we don't have much that's really snoop worthy.
