1st Trimester

who plans on being on team green?

We didn't find out the gender when I was PG with DS.   We are debating if we are going to find out this time around.

  • we found out with the first.

with the second, we caved around 30 weeks. I'm SO GLAD I did because it gave me time to adjust to the idea of having two boys.

with this one, we'll find out again. I find I don't like surprises.

  • We didn't with DS either so I don't think we will.  I wanted to at first but DH doesn't--and I'm ok with that too.  It'll be a fun surprise to end the c-section with, right?  LOL.  Since we didn't know with DS then most of our newborn and0-3 is neutral.  If we end up with a girl, then I'm sure we'll get lots of gifts from the grandmas.
  • We didn't find out with DD and we're not finding out with #2.

  • I caved with DD because my DH really wanted to know.  I'm sure we will find out with this one.  I want to be prepared if we have a boy.  We have no gender neutral clothes or blankets.

  • Don't want to find out. Finding out wouldn't change what we buy or how we prepare.

  • I want to!  DH wants to find out.  I think he will cave since I am probably caving in to his name wishes this time around.  It is going to be so much fun, and I am just not going to make any room arrangements/plans.  I would never have done it for the first, but this time I am cool with doing bedrooms after LO is here.  I can pick a few sleepers up if it turns out to be a boy.

  • This is our first, and we're committed to not finding out.  I don't care if friends and family think I'm crazy :)

  • DH is dead-set on not finding out. I would LOVE to find out at 20 weeks, but he feels so strongly about it that I will probably go along with him and not find out until delivery.

  • we didn't find out with DD. We are debating with #2. Hubby wants to know so I figured he could have his way this time, but we wouldn't find out with the next, but now hubby is leaning towards not finding out this time either since he liked the surprise with DD.
  • Found out with DD#1 and DS.  Was Team Green with DD#2 and will be again this time too.

Totally agree. I don't want to find out, DH does, but I am holding my ground on this one. I want everything gender neutral so we can use it for more babies!! I am sure we will get plenty of gifts from the grandparents once the baby arrives. Big Smile

  • We won't be finding out. (or so I say now. ) DH thinks he wants a boy, but I know he'll be happy either way, so I plan on making him wait! :)
  • We found out the first time around and we are going to aim for Team Green this time.

  • I had to find out with my first two boys and will find out with my new one I feel unprepared not knowing and I couldn't handle not knowing !! good luck!
  • We're not planning on finding out. However, fraternal twins run in my family, so, if we are having multiples, I might cave.
  • We did not find out with #1 and won't again with this one either.  It was so much fun to not know and let the suspense build up.  It also built up for our friends and family, and people were so eager to learn what we had when we delivered.

Also, I didn't want a bunch of green and yellow stuff, and it wasn't that bad.  As soon as we had a boy, we got tons of blue stuff.  And, the best part is that all that gender neutral stuff we bought (crib decor, stroller, car seat, high chair, etc) can be used with baby #2!

  • My DH and I are both set on not finding out.  Its something we agreed on before we even started ttc

Even if we did find out, I wouldn't tell many people because I want clothes to be gender neutral.  I hate the standard blue is for boy and pink is for girl.

  • We were team green for the first and will be for this one too!

We are finding out! I would find out today if I could! I am a planner and love to decorate, so I am excited to know.

This exact same response for me! I am way too much of a planner to not know. If it's a girl she will be in all pink and if it's a boy he'll be in all blue. We also plan to color coordinate the nursery so I just have to know.

However, I so wish that I could not find out and just be surprised. I'm jealous of people who don't find out!

And of course all we care about is that our baby is healthy so we have no preference to which gender we have.

Ditto this. To me it's a surprise whether I find out at 20 weeks or 40 weeks. ::shrugs::

  • I'm torn.

With DD we were team green.  I don't remember finding out what sex she was because I was so tired from pushing.  So I would like to remember the moment.

DH is adament that he doesn't want to find out.  There is no reason for us to find out, because all of our gear is gender neutral.  We also have a lot of 0-3 month gender neutral clothing.

  • I want a surprise, DH wants to find out. Still debating.

  • We didn't find out with DS and we're not finding out this time, either. DH and I like the surprise of waiting until the baby is born.

  • We just decided that we are not going to find out the sex.  This is our first, and all I have heard from the few people who know that we are pregnant is that I am crazy.

I just think it will be a great suprise.  Plus, everyting I like for the nursery is pretty gender nuetral.  I guess the only problem will be clothes.

His three plus my one; we are all excited to welcome a little one!

  • Not finding out this time. Yea it is a "surprise" if you find out at 20 weeks or 40, but my 20 week ultrasound was such a letdown.

"Hmm baby won't get in position. I can't really tell. I think that might be a penis? No, that is the cord. Hmm. No, sorry can't give you an answer." (5 minutes later). "Hmm I think that is a penis. Oh its a boy!"

all of that compared with "ITS A BOY!" at delivery and SEEING that boy at the same time...no contest.

  • We're not finding out.

  • I'm 50/50 on the issue, but DH REALLY wants a surprise so I am going to go with it.  We have enough neutral stuff to get us through the first several weeks if it's a girl.

We did find out with DS, at 20 weeks.

  • We are on team green! Most people are actually excited that we do not want to find out until the baby is born.
    DD1: May 2011
    DD2: February 2014

  • We didn't find out with DD and my DH doesn't want to know this time either.  I would actually like to know just so that I could be prepared!
